"On March 10th, 2010, I had surgery on my shoulder and started physical therapy three times a week. My therapist noticed that I had vertigo. After approval from my doctor and only eight treatments at Valir, the vertigo I had for 45 years is now 95% cured. There was a little discomfort at the beginning, but my symptoms are surpressed now. I highly recommend Doug Soell and his knowledge of my treatments. Thank you, Valir!"

"When my husband and I were involved in a motorcycle accident on August 1, 2007, the doctor told me that I would probably never walk again. I told him, "You don't know my God." Then the doctor said, "If you do walk again, it will be at least a year." When we were recommended to go to Valir for therapy, we were not prepared for what we would find. Being non-weight bearing, I had to go to water therapy for several weeks. The therapist, Laura, knew just what I would need to be ready to walk when the time came. The therapists were very knowledgeable and I believe the Lord was involved in the decision for therapy. The therapists worked me hard, but with two crushed ankles, there was a lot of work to do! I took my first steps six weeks after the accident. I went back to work on Christmas Eve, four months and three weeks after the accident. Thank you, David, Laura, and all the others, for helping me to come back almost 100%!!
P.S. Ten months after the accident, I went to Girl Scout camp and I hiked 117 acres for six days!!"

"September 25, 2008, was the day I thought my life changed forever. I am a federal probation officer and required to practice self-defense techniques. On the 25th, I was at the Oklahoma City Police and Fire Academy going through the normal self-defense drills I had practiced for years. Being in extra good shape for a 53 year old, I even volunteered to do a "2 on 1 drill." As the sparring was ending, a fellow officer who is about 15 years younger and 40 pounds heavier, began pushing on me. I pushed back and the next thing I knew we were falling backwards, with him landing on top. As we landed I felt excruciating pain in my right knee. I had a co-worker drive me over to McBride Bone and Joint and I was soon seen by Dr. Holden. He told me he thought I had completely torn my quadcriceps tendon away from my knee and he ordered an MRI. Dr. Holden called me the next day and confirmed my worst fears. He said I had indeed torn the tendon and surgery was needed within the week. A week or so after the operation, I went in for my initial checkup and to get my staples removed. Dr. Holden told me he wanted to start me working on rehab as soon as possible. I heard that David Haynes and his staff at Valir Midwest City are the best rehab therapists in the Oklahoma City area. On October 16, 2008, I went to Valir for the first time and met with David Haynes. I could tell quickly that David knew his field. He told me that I could come all the way back, and from that moment forward I always felt he believed in me and was sure I would have a complete recovery. I had many doubts along the way but he and his staff always kept me progressing and believing in my recovery. My progress seemed slow but with David and his staff's encouragement I kept my spirits up. After a couple of weeks, they started me on the stationary bike. It took almost a month before I could peddle around one time. When I finally was able to accomplish that feat I began to believe what David had been telling me, that I was going to have a complete recovery. As the weeks went by, I began to really notice progress. After several months I "graduated." I had my range of motion completely back and just needed to develop some more strength which I'm now doing on my own. I am back teaching and participating in yoga; I can do most of the poses I could do before my injury. I am running again; adding 2 minutes a week on the treadmill. Six months away from the date of my injury, I consider my recovery a success! What have I learned from all of this? Number one listen to what David and his staff tell you. They really are well-versed in their field. Let them dictate your advancements; you are in good hands, trust me. Secondly, make all your sessions and by all means do your homework. Finally, don't get discouraged, progress can be slow initially but it will come."
