The Valir Physical Therapy clinic in Guthrie opened November 16, 2009. The facility operates as a state-of-the-art outpatient clinic.
Valir Physical Therapy provides physical and rehabilitative therapies that are designed to address the short- and long-term needs of all ages during recovery from surgery, injury, or chronic illness. We provide outpatient services for general orthopedic rehabilitation and for spinal, neurological, pre- and postoperative rehabilitation, pediatrics, and arthritis management. Our therapy programs emphasize the use of manual therapy techniques and self-management programs.
Our referral base includes physicians of many specialties, participating insurance networks, employers and workers' compensation groups.
Through Valir Health's mission to establishing a higher standard, we pride ourselves on building relationships within our community and doing the right thing to ensure that our patients receive service in a safe, comfortable and healing environment.

 Jay Wheat, MPT, OCS, joined Valir Physical Therapy in August 2008. He was raised in a small community in southeast Oklahoma, and began his undergraduate studies at Eastern Oklahoma State College. After two years, Jay moved to Southeastern Oklahoma State College, studying biology. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma's physical therapy program in May 2005.
Jay has worked in Edmond since graduation, and began his career as a physical therapist and site coordinator for HealthSouth. He also worked with Edmond Physical Therapy before he worked with Valir. Jay has focused his post-education training on improving his manual therapy skills. He has been through three levels of courses in spinal manipulation, and has completed an orthopedic manual therapy long-term course. He is actively working toward a clinical fellowship program in orthopedic manual therapy.
Jay enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking, golfing, and other outdoor activities. He is the co-founder of an outdoor ministry called Hunt4Him Ministries. He and his wife, Brady, have plans for kids coming soon.
Dedicated to helping others return to health and function, Jay is excited to open a new clinic and meet the people of Guthrie.
