General Orthopedics

Valir Outpatient Therapy specializes in the treatment of orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and education are used in the treament of the following conditions:

  • Industrial or sports injuries
  • Neck and back pain
  • Strains and sprains
  • Pre- and post-surgery rehabilitation
  • Degenerative diseases
  • Postural dysfunction and impingement
  • Joint replacement
  • Conditions involving the extremities, including the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot

Sports Medicine

Valir Outpatient Therapy has extensive experience working with athletes of all ages and abilities. We use a variety of modalities, manual therapies and programs to treat athletic injuries, with the goal of returning the athlete to his or her sport as quickly as possible.

We also offer a conditioning program for athletes that improves stabilization and muscle balancing, which helps prevent injuries during play.


Aquatic Therapy

Some patients respond well to the buoyancy, movement and constant resistance of warm water. In such cases, aquatic therapy is used often in conjunction with traditional therapy   to treat certain conditions.

Seniors

Valir's senior program uses manual therapy, exercise and many other modalities to help seniors maintain active, pain-free lives. Our therapists have extensive experience treating seniors with neck, back and shoulder pain and pain associated with surgery or joint replacements. 


Work Hardening

Valir Outpatient Therapy offers a work-hardening program for injured workers. In this program, patients perform work-specific exercises and simulations, which are designed to help them return to work safely and as quickly as possible. 


Women's Health

Those conditions and diagnoses that are unique to women are addressed in a series of programs which include:

  • Post-mastectomy and breat-augmentation rehabilitation
  • Pre- and post-natal problems, such as low-back pain, hip pain and radiculopathy
  • Post-cesarean section core strengthening
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Osteoporosis

Vestibular Rehabilitation and Stroke Therapy

People suffering from dizziness and loss of balance caused by inner-ear and neurological disorders may benefit from Valir's vestibular rehabilitation program, which retrains the brain, eyes, and cervical head to work independently for improved body stabilization.

Additionally, Valir offers stroke rehabilitation to improve coordination, gain, position awareness and overall conditioning.

These services are offered in Valir's outpatient physical therapy facilities at the following locations:

Hand Therapy

Physicians and therapists work with patients to develop individualized therapy programs for medical conditions relating to the hand and arm.

Hand therapy services are available at Valir's South Oklahoma City and Shawnee facilities and include:

  • Evaluation
  • Exercise programs
  • Custom-fabricated splints
  • Edema control
  • Scar management
  • Modalities (thermal and electrical)
  • Activities of daily living
  • Functional-use training
  • Strengthening programs

Graduate Program

Valir offers a graduate program that enables patients to continue exercising in our clinic with general guidance from our therapy team. This permits patients who no longer receive physical therapy to continue their strengthening exercises in a controlled environment.

Program Details

  • $35$50 monthly fee
  • Automatic payment plan available
  • Access to clinic gym after rehabilitation, or after exhausting physical therapy benefits
  • No additional fees
