The outpatient clinic is open Monday – Friday and works with the patient's insurance company to help make treatment a simple, worry-free experience.

Inpatient capability, outpatient flexibility |
Valir Rehabilitation Hospital now offers a day hospital for orthopedic and joint-replacement patients who need comprehensive inpatient therapy during the day but who are able to return home in the evenings. This allows patients to benefit from a complete and structured daytime therapy program while enjoying the comforts of home and family during the evenings. It's inpatient capability with outpatient flexibility.

Day hospital admission requirements
- Patient must be referred by a physician
- Patient must require only minimal supervision
- Insurance must allow for outpatient rehabilitation benefits
- Patient must be able to tolerate at least three hours of therapy per day

Day hospital components include:
- Comprehensive physician-directed rehabilitation care
- Physical, occupational, speech and respiratory care
- Rehabilitation nursing, including medication management and wound care
- Social and recreational activities
- Case management to direct and guide patient treatment and oversee any discharge needs
- Caregiver education
- Ongoing communication with the patient's personal physician
Once patients have completed treatment at Valir Day Hospital, they are discharged and referred to a Valir Outpatient Therapy clinic near their home to continue the recovery process.
